Senior Bowl Sees the Dores

Miles Capers, Diego Pavia and Eli Stowers

Vanderbilt Athletics

Three members of the Vanderbilt football program—Miles Capers, Diego Pavia and Eli Stowers—are on the Senior Bowl Top 300 list announced Wednesday.

Widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game, highlighted by featuring 106 individuals last season who were selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, the contest is set to take place on Jan. 31, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

In his first year as a starter, Capers recorded 46 total tackles—including eight behind the line of scrimmage with three sacks—three forced fumbles, three passes broken up and the first interception of his career for the Commodores in 2024. He was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week after posting a sack and recovering a fumble in Vandy’s October win over top-ranked Alabama, while he tied a career high with seven stops against fifth-ranked Texas at the end of that month.

Pavia threw for 2,293 yards and rushed for 801 more, accounting for 28 touchdowns—20 passing, eight on the ground—last season to be chosen the SEC Newcomer of the Year and the Associated Press’ national Newcomer of the Year. The quarterback was twice selected the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and was also voted the Most Valuable Player of the Birmingham Bowl, recording 250-plus yards of total offense on five occasions his first year with the program.

Stowers was a first-team All-SEC honoree last fall after pacing the Commodores in catches (49), receiving yards (638) and touchdown receptions (five), which included posting 100 or more yards in victories over No. 1 Alabama and Ball State. He was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mention List following both those performances, going on to be selected a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award presented to the best tight end in college football.

The Dores open the 2025 season on Aug. 30 at FirstBank Stadium with a 6 p.m. kickoff against Charleston Southern. Season ticket, mini-plan and single-game ticket options for Vanderbilt football this fall are still available, more information on each is available by clicking here.
